This
is a hugely popular attraction for all ages, giving a taste of
the ‘real’ Florida and it’s wildlife. One of
the few remaining family owned attractions in Florida.
The
alligators are the main attractions and there are two great shows
to see. The Wrestling Stadium seats several hundred and is the
setting for some real alligator wrestling. Florida cowboys called
‘Crackers’ catch 7-8 foot gator's and carry out stunts
to demonstrate their features.
The
second show is the Gator Jumparoo where some of the parks biggest
animals use their tails to jump high out of the water to be hand
fed tasty snacks.
Take
the Railroad around the 50-acre park, or wander around the Florida
countryside on the Swamp Walk. Climb the 3 storey Breeding Marsh.
Another
show you can take in demonstrates the snakes of Florida, proving
that although many are dangerous they are not, as many think,
slimy but dry skinned and shy.
Kids
have their own section of the park known as Alligator Alley including
a petting zoo and a water playground where you can be sure your
kids will get wet.
If
you are feeling hungry why don dine on smoked alligator ribs or
deep-fried gator nuggets. If you don’t fancy either of those
there is more conventional food on the menu.
The
park opens daily from 9 am to dusk with free parking.
